How Online Hypnotherapy Works

Online hypnotherapy is just as effective as face-to-face sessions when carried out correctly. Sessions are conducted securely via live video call, allowing you to experience deep therapeutic work from the comfort and privacy of your own home, hotel, or office.

Hypnosis does not require physical presence — it relies on focused attention, guided relaxation, and your unconscious mind, all of which work perfectly well online.

Before Your Session – Preparation Protocol

To ensure the best results, clients are asked to prepare the following:

  • A quiet, private space where you will not be interrupted
  • A comfortable chair or sofa (you may sit or recline)
  • Stable internet connection with camera and sound enabled
  • Phone on silent / Do Not Disturb
  • Comfortable clothing
  • A glass of water nearby

You must not be driving, working, or supervising others during the session.

Initial Consultation & Assessment

Your first session includes a full confidential consultation, where we discuss:

  • Your goals and challenges
  • Relevant history (emotional, behavioural, or physical)
  • What you want to change and how you want to feel instead
  • How hypnosis works and what to expect

This allows the session to be tailored specifically to you, rather than using generic scripts.

The Hypnosis Session – What Happens

During the session you will:

  1. Be guided into a deeply relaxed, focused state
  2. Remain aware, safe, and in control at all times
  3. Hear my voice clearly throughout the session
  4. Experience therapeutic techniques such as:
    • Hypnosis & guided imagery
    • Parts Therapy / inner conflict resolution
    • Trauma-informed approaches (non-reliving)
    • Confidence, calm, or behaviour change work

You cannot get “stuck” in hypnosis, lose control, or be made to do anything against your will.

Safety & Ethical Standards (Important)

Online hypnotherapy is suitable for most people, however:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric care
  • I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication

Sessions are conducted in line with professional UK clinical and ethical standards, even when working internationally.

After the Session

After your session you may feel:

Some changes are immediate; others continue to unfold over days or weeks as your unconscious integrates the work.

Number of Sessions

This depends on the issue and the individual, but typically:

  • 1–3 sessions for phobias, confidence, habits, or stress
  • 3–6 sessions for deeper patterns, trauma, or long-standing issues

We review progress together and adjust as needed.

No recordings are made unless requested and agreed in advance.
